As you can see, all of your athletes have had a minimum of 3 years of strength training. This experience is important because all advanced training should be based on a solid foundation of the basics. Before we move past the BMA stage of the needs analysis, let's put together a complete picture for each of your athletes.

Use the information in the table entitled Sport-Specific Development Required for Sports/Events to identify all of the speed-based power demands for each of your athletes. (Click on the hyperlink to review this information.) This table is also available on p. 13 of the Bompa and Carrera text. Simply check off which of the three power components is a dominant BMA for each athlete. Although others may be used during a competition for a specific athlete, I only want those identified as dominant for the sport and position.
