Take another look. Be sure to review the warning signs and study pages 260-266 in the text. This is a growing problem among athletes, and you'll likely be the front line of defense against these disorders. You need to know how to recognize the problem and what to do.

2. Are there triggers in the team environment that might be playing into Sarah's problem?

You're not on the right track here. Take a minute to review what a trigger is (p. 265 in your text). Then reread the scenario and try this one again.

That's the wrong choice. Eating disorders are serious problems and should not be taken lightly. The progression of these disorders can lead to extreme health problems related to hormone imbalances, bone loss, increased injury, and other self-destructive behaviors. This is a psychological disorder. Get proper treatment by referring the athlete to the professional team that deals with eating disorders. If there is not such a team at your facility, create one.
