Appropriate Practices for Physical Education

Memorial Elementary is a K-5 school with 528 students. The students primarily speak English or are bilingual, although there are children from Spanish-speaking homes. Memorial also has a population of children with special needs.

Hi! I'm Katy Miller and I've been teaching for 28 years with 10 of those years being here at Memorial Elementary School. I see my students twice a week for 30 minutes each class period. I have nine classes each day.

I was selected to be observed because of the number of children with special needs in my classes. I hope to analyze whether my practices promote physical activity for all children and that they'll encourage all students to be physically active outside my classroom.
