Guidelines for Sport Nutrition

Mary Ann asking Kevin a question about carbohydrate intake.

I try not to overlook the males, because low caloric intake can be a problem for some guys, but it's the females who are most likely to restrict calories and therefore take in too little carbohydrate. If I think there is some disordered eating, I send them to my colleague who specializes in that area. But much of the time it's a matter of getting them to think positively about the need for sufficient calories and carbohydrate.

Kevin, you talk about grams of carbohydrate per kilogram of body weight, but I hear endurance athletes say they should take in 70% carbohydrate. How does that compare to what you are recommending?
