What is a key code?
A key code is a unique activation code that you enter the first time you
access a course test. You do not need a key code to access your course;
you need a key code only to take the course test.
How will I obtain my key code?
When you purchase an Online Education Center course, you will receive
an email with your key code.
You do have immediate access to the course itself, but you will
have to wait for the key code before taking the exam.
When will I receive my key code?
Key codes are not emailed until your financial institution processes
payment. Please allow 2 or 3 business days for processing
your order.
I received an error message when I entered my key code.
What do I do?
First, check and see if you have already entered your key code:
- Go to
My Courses.
- Instead of clicking the course title to enter your course, click
on the Details link to the right of the title.
- Details gives you a summary of your course information
and exam. If it says there is no information for this course, then
you have not entered your key code yet and need to contact us for
assistance. However, if it shows the organization information, then
the key code has already been entered once. You enter your key code
only one time to activate the exam portion of your course.
I have my key code. How and where do I enter it?
- Go to
My Courses. You'll be asked to sign on with your email address and
password.
- Click the Enter Key Codeem> button on the My Courses
screen. This will take you to a new page where you must enter your
key code exactly as it is printed (including hyphens) on the letter
you receive with your materials.
- After entering your key code, you will also be asked to choose
your organization for credits. Use the dropdown list to choose your
organization.
- The My Courses page will now be updated so that you may enter
the exam at any time.
I haven’t received my key code. What do I do?
If it has been more than 3 business days since
ordering your course, please send an email to
keycodesupport@hkusa.com. Please include the following information:
- Name of person who placed the order
- Name and address of person who the order was shipped to
- Title of course(s) purchased
- Method of purchase: phone, online, or by mail
- Date the course was purchased
- Method of payment: credit card or personal check (please do not provide actual account information; simply provide method of payment)
- Contact information: email address and telephone number
What if I fail my test? Can I receive another key code to
take the test again?
If you did not pass the exam on the first attempt, and need to purchase
a retake exam, the retake fee is $10 (USD). Please do the following to
purchase the retake exam:
- Sign on to
My Courses.
- Instead of clicking the course title to go into the course, click
on the Exam Info link next to it.
- The page here will show when you took the exam and what your score
was. Below that is a Purchase Retake button.
- Click the Purchase Retake button, and order the retake
online.
You will not be able to take the retake exam until you receive the
retake key code 2 or 3 business days after purchase. This new key
code will be sent to you via email.
Please allow 2 business days for processing your order.
Do you need to use the key code more than once?
No. You will use your key code only once, the first time you access
your test. You may then throw your key code away.
Can I ever reuse my key code?
If you’ve already used your key code, then it is deactivated and
can never be used again.
What do I do if I can’t figure out how to use my key
code or if I have other key code problems?
You may send an email to
keycodesupport@hkusa.com. Please include the name of your course
and the key code (if you have it). You may also call Professional
Education Services at 217-351-5076, Monday through
Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST.
